Welcome to Dittalinaggii!

I still haven’t thought up a nice title for this blog, but the present one will do. The sub-title says it all I guess. I am not a software programmer, nor am I a web developer, just an aspiring writer who needs to work on his ability to describe life, and that in a language that readers would like to remember and roll their tongues on.

I write fiction, not because it is easier but because it is safer. Where I come from, non-fiction writers get killed. Some have decided that writers who tell about real happenings are cheaper than most human beings, and so despite of our Big Sister’s lip service to human rights, there are still some who manage to snuff the life out of journalists and radio newsmen. Oh, did I say journalists and newsmen?

I am not Italian, but I’ve been to Italy and got some smattering of la lingua italiana from some Milanese, Neapolitans, Sicilians and real live Romans who came my way. How good my Italian is, you’ll never know.

I am still figuring out how to work on FlatPress. It doesn’t have a WYSIWYG like WordPress, so I am stuck with the default formatting language for the FlatPress editor: BBCode. I like BBCode but I am not very familiar with it. It is easier than HTML and is more convenient since there are software available that can do help one with it. (I find it strange that a set of tags that were originally designed to help non-HTML savvies format their posts have so many software applications that facilitates the production of bracketed tags. But that is life, strange as it may seem…). HTML is good too, but it can be slow. In this blog, I’d use my knowledge of HTML for tweaking the blogtheme and inserting videos into my posts. Other than that, I’ll try to work with BBCode.

There isn’t much to tell yet; this blog has been installed, it is working fine and my blog theme seems to be alright. So I will rest for awhile and leave blogging for another day. Visit often for updates if you wish. If I find something of interest, I’ll tell you about it. :-)
